Maintenance

The SmartWasher requires a minimum amount of maintenance if used properly.  Remember, the Smartwasher is not designed to function as a waste dump.  If excessive oil or similar fluid is dumped into the system, the Ozzy microbes may be destroyed.

Monthly Maintenance (FL-3):  The FL-3 OzzyMat will need to be replaced at least once a month. (see image 1-1) This will insure that your Ozzy colony remains healthy and strong.  This is the key to the SmartWasher system.  By keeping the microbe count high the fluid will continue to clean.

Weekly / Monthly Maintenance (FL-4): The FL-4 OzzyMat will need each layer peeled off at least once a week.  On the first Monday of each month, you will place a new OzzyMat in the machine (see image 2-1).  On the second and third Monday, you will peel a layer off of the OzzyMat (see image 2-2).  On the fourth Monday, you will need to replace the OzzyMat completely (the final white layer and the blue layer) (see image 2-3).  This will insure that your Ozzy colony remains healthy and strong.  This is the key to the SmartWasher system.  By keeping the microbe count high the fluid will continue to clean.

Annual Maintenance:  We recommend that the SmartWasher should be cleaned annually.  Do this by simply pumping out the fluid into containers until the machine is drained.  Remove the sink from the base and inspect the bottom of the unit for any sludge that might have accumulated at the bottom.  Clean the base with water to remove any debris.  Reassemble sink, change filter, and re-add the OzzyJuice.

If you ever get behind in maintaining your SmartWasher by changing the mats you still may not have to dispose of your fluid.  This depends on how long it has been since the last mat changing and how 'dirty' the fluid is.  You may be able to simply do a maintenance as the annual one above and add OzzyBooster for an extra supply of microbes to help get the fluid back into shape.  If your machine has developed an odor, you may also add Odor Neutralizer.
